Acne Resources - 5 Ways to Remove Blackheads
You will notice that wherever there is oily skin, especially in what is called the "T Zone" of the face, is where you will discover the most blackheads. These annoying clogs in your pores if not removed can become quite noticeable if you don't find a way to get rid of them. Before you consider getting them removed here are a few things should should know on what not to do when you are wanting to remove blackheads.
1. Never over wash your face. This just leads to drying out your skin.
2. Never squeeze them to get rid of them.
3. Don't pick at them with a needle or do anything that could hurt your skin.
One way to remove blackheads is to take your problem to a dermatologist. Understand that this is going to cost a minimum of a $100 just to get in the door and then whatever else you will be charged for treatment. Also, the dermatologist simply uses what is called a comedone extractor and if not done properly can actually leave marks on your skin. So only do this if you really don't want to try and do it on your own.
A really good home remedy that your grandmother probably used and is still used today, is very simple. Boil some water and pour into a large bowl. Then lean over the bowl and cover your head and the bowl with a towel. Make sure that you don't get your face too close to the boiling water, you don't want to burn your face. Stay like this for no less than five minutes in order to give the steam some time to work.
Once you are done doing this, the pores will have opened up from the steam and you can now take a cotton ball and put some astringent on it or even rubbing alcohol and rub it all over your face where the blackheads are. This will actually remove all of the blackheads from your pores. You should use this treatment once a month to keep the blackheads away.
Neutrogena has a wonderful product that is called the Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask. This is an easy product to use. Simply rub a thin layer of it on your face and let it dry. This should be for about 15 minutes. Once the time is up all you do is rinse it off. If you do this about once a week, you will notice that all of your blackheads are completely gone within one months time.
Any kind of facial scrub works well against blackheads. Just make sure that the scrub you get is a mild one and that it won't be so rough on your skin that it feels like your face is going to fall off when you are using it. You should try using the scrub every morning instead of your regular soap. You do this by putting the scrub on your face and then rub it one in circular motions for about 3 minutes.
